Take a proactive, clinically proven approach to chronic weight management with Saxenda®, a prescription injectable medication designed for adults and adolescents (ages 12–17). Saxenda is indicated for adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater (obesity), or 27 or greater (overweight) in the presence of at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol.
As a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, Saxenda works by mimicking a natural metabolic hormone in your body that regulates appetite. By activating specific areas in the brain responsible for hunger control, it increases feelings of fullness and satisfaction while slowing down stomach emptying. When paired with a reduced-calorie meal plan and increased physical activity, Saxenda helps you achieve and sustain your long-term weight reduction goals.
